Send Your First Event

Get data flowing into IForevents

1. Get your project key

The key is shown on the SDK snippet screen right after the project is created, and later under Settings → Project. It is safe to embed in apps: it can only write events.

2. Choose how to send

  • Flutter app: Flutter SDK (flutter pub add iforevents)
  • Node.js, Python, Go: client libraries (npm install @iforevents/sdk-js, pip install iforevents-sdk, go get github.com/innovafour/iforevents-api-go) or the plain HTTP ingest
  • Web (JavaScript): the browser snippet, one script tag.

3. Send an event

The smallest possible request, from any terminal:

curl -X POST https://api.iforevents.com/v1/events/track \
  -H "X-Project-Key: <project key>" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"event_name":"first_event","properties":{"source":"docs"}}'

A 201 Created means the event was accepted.

4. See it on the dashboard

Open the dashboard: the Events section lists it within a few seconds, and the overview cards update on the next refresh.

What next

  • Identify users so events are attributed to people.
  • Track events with properties you can filter on.
