Self-hosted first

IForevents is now free to run on your own servers with one command; the hosted edition stays open with a free plan

Published 2026-09-20 · IForevents team

A week after 1.0 we are changing how IForevents is offered. From today IForevents comes in two editions. The self-hosted edition is free, installed with one command, with no account with us. IForevents Cloud, the hosted edition, keeps its public signup and its free plan for the teams who would rather not run servers.

Why

Analytics data is the most sensitive data most products have, and the teams who asked us the most questions were the ones who wanted to keep it on their own machines. Others never want to see a server. The model that fits both is the one PostHog made familiar: a self-hosted edition anyone can run, and a hosted edition for the teams who would rather we ran it.

What you get

The whole product, from one file:

mkdir iforevents && cd iforevents
curl -fsSLO https://raw.githubusercontent.com/innovafour/iforevents-selfhosted/main/docker-compose.yml
curl -fsSLO --create-dirs --output-dir clickhouse https://raw.githubusercontent.com/innovafour/iforevents-selfhosted/main/clickhouse/iforevents.xml
docker compose up -d

That starts the api, the dashboard, ClickHouse, Redis and RabbitMQ, connected and migrated, on any machine with Docker. The first visit to the dashboard creates the administrator; teammates are added from Settings. There is no event cap, no seat limit, no license key and no phone-home.

The install lives in a public repository, innovafour/iforevents-selfhosted, with the compose file, an optional Caddy overlay for a domain with automatic HTTPS, and the issue tracker. Every release is installed from scratch by CI before it is published, and the images on GitHub Container Registry are signed with cosign.

What changes for Cloud

Nothing. Sign up at app.iforevents.com/register, start on the Free plan (5,000,000 events a month, 90-day retention, unlimited seats, no card) and upgrade to Pro or Scale from Settings when you outgrow it. Existing customers sign in as before; plans and billing stay under Settings. Cloud runs the same images as the self-hosted edition, so moving between the two is a data export, not a rewrite.

Where to start

  • Self-hosting: install, first login, domains.
  • Getting Started: admin, project, first event.
  • Cloud: the hosted edition, free to start.
  • Plans & Pricing: Free, Pro, Scale and Enterprise.
